25th May 2020
Dear Parent(s)/Guardians,
As always, a schedule of work from your son’s class teacher for the week ahead was emailed out to you. Our message has been consistent from the very first day our school closed. The health and wellbeing of everyone in our school community is the most important thing right now. To keep in touch with school work we do ask that an effort is made at home to engage with the work that teachers are providing. I’d be the first to admit that it is extremely difficult to stay motivated but if you can get your son into a routine at all, try and stick to it as best you can. I’ d like to bring the following points to your attention.
- Following up on what I mentioned above, I’d like to point out that this week was to be a four day week in our school calendar. We were due to be off on Friday, May 29th. You will be glad to hear that teachers haven’t set work for Friday. Enjoy the day off boys! Furthermore, we are due to be off on Monday, June 1st and Tuesday, June 2nd also. We will not be setting work for those days either. That means you won’t be hearing from me until Wednesday, June 3rd. That leaves us with one more full week of work left which is the week beginning Monday, June 8th. We have two fun weeks planned for pupils starting on Monday, June 15th to finish up our school year. Please do your best to stay engaged with us and see out the year!!
- We will be organising a copy/book collection day for classes starting on Monday, June 15th. We will be asking that book rental books are dropped back to us at this time also. More details to follow in the coming weeks.
- Eid Mubarak to all our Muslim friends in CBS Primary School.
I know that I sound like a broken record at this stage, but thank you for all that you are doing. Your engagement with us on this distance learning journey is vital and your sons are doing wonderful work. We are here to support you in whatever way we can so please don’t hesitate to reach out. I hope you all enjoy the weather and the break over the Bank Holiday weekend.
Yours Sincerely,
Niall Bergin,
Principal,
CBS Primary School,
