Junior Hurling

Looking back on a time pre Covid when pupils from the CBS Secondary school helped to referee Junior Hurling matches. Looking forward to creating more opportunties like this in 2023. Some of the players in these photographs are now our Senior Gaelic football team and future Senior Hurling Team.

Friday the 8th of November saw the final matches in the Junior Hurling leagues. Boys from 2nd and 3rd class had been playing on six mixed class teams at lunchtimes on Tuesdays and Thursday. The boys had a wonderful time playing with their friends and making new friends.

Huge thanks to the 6th class boys who prepared the pitches and the Transition Year pupils from the CBS Secondary school who refereed the matches each lunchtime.

Friday saw parents invited in for 3 matches, where all teams got to play to celebrate the end of the league, Mr Bergin presented medals to all those who had participated. Well done to all involved. The future of CBS Hurling is bright.

Delighted with their medals.

More happy faces.

A great afternoon’s hurling.
